Introduction: As Benjamin Franklin said “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!”. To plan or not to plan? – is one of the frequent asked questions by teachers.
Planning is a thinking skill- it is imagining the lesson before it happens. It involves prediction, anticipation, sequencing, organizing and simplifying. Thinking through possible content and problems before the class provides you with informed choices that set you free in class. But we still have to make decisions as we proceed with the lesson which means we need to be ready for magic moments and be prepared to change our plan to take advantage of them. Deviating from the plan is much easier when you have a structured plan as a foundation for changes.
